Founded in Bloemfontein, South Africa in 2024, Tanosec was built from the ground up for the South African market — by someone who grew up watching the hacker culture of the 90s and turned that obsession into a career protecting businesses from the real-world version of it.
Our story stretches back to the early days of the internet boom in the late 90s—when dial-up tones, ICQ chats, and Windows 98 defined the digital experience. Back then, password cracking tools, early firewalls, and the rise of online viruses were changing the way people thought about security. We were already exploring those challenges hands-on, experimenting, learning, and building a mindset that still drives us today.
Based in Bloemfontein, Free State, we serve clients across South Africa — including Johannesburg, Cape Town, Durban, and Pretoria. We work fully remotely with clients nationwide, which means geography is no barrier to getting proper security done.
